The St. Charles School District Foundation supports innovative ideas that enrich learning across the district. We offer two grant opportunities each year to help teachers bring creative, meaningful experiences to their students.
The SCSD Foundation’s Bright Ideas Mini‑Grants support creative, meaningful classroom projects that benefit students right away. Teachers can apply for up to $1,500 to fund field trips, assemblies, hands‑on learning experiences, classroom projects, or small educational tools and resources.
Applications Open: October 1
Applications Close: December 1
Awards Announced: Approved projects are announced on a rolling basis, typically within two weeks of submission.
Grants are awarded based on available funding, student impact, and equitable distribution across buildings and grade levels. Approved projects should be implemented during the current school year.

The SCSD Foundation’s Innovation Impact Grants fund transformative, innovative projects that elevate learning across classrooms, grade levels, or buildings. These grants are designed for educators who want to think big — creating programs that inspire collaboration, creativity, and measurable student growth.
Applications Open: February 1
Applications Close: March 15
Awards Announced: April 15 — recipients are notified by email and recognized publicly.
Typically $1,500 – $5,000 per project (flexible based on budget and scope).
Projects may include:
STEM/STEAM initiatives
Technology‑enhanced learning
Creative instructional redesign
Multi‑classroom or multi‑grade collaborations
Programs with broad, lasting student impact
Grants are awarded based on innovation, measurable outcomes, and equitable distribution across buildings and grade levels.
